MIDI CONTROLLER TOUCHME

Pupils with PMLD, some of whom have very limited voluntary movement, explored a variety of sounds and experienced cause and effect with the support of an adult, a small speaker, and sticky patches connected to TouchMe.

The pupils loved the sounds created through TouchMe and Patatap. Because TouchMe can be connected with almost any type of sound, it gives each pupil the opportunity to explore music through sounds they enjoy and in a way that is accessible and fun for them.

One particularly memorable moment was when a boy began to laugh while using TouchMe. His teachers and teaching assistants told us, “That is the sound he makes when he is extremely happy.” It was a simple but powerful demonstration of how technology like TouchMe can open up new opportunities for musical exploration, interaction, and joy.
