Hey hey! Today, we’ve prepared something fun for you.
This is Viktor, the heartbeat of Playtronica – our drummer. He plays in several bands and teaches children music.
Viktor is looking forward to using Orbita in his classroom. It’s perfect for explaining what polyrhythm is – a widespread notion in music.
Put simply, a polyrhythm is when there are two or more different rhythmic patterns played in the same measure of time. And each of those patterns cuts this measure into equal parts. So, for example, imagine one instrument playing a common straight 2-counts pattern, and another one – a 3-counts waltz pattern (e.g., in Fake Empire by The National).
We hope you enjoy this small illustration by Viktor!
