MIDI COLOR SEQUENCER ORBITA

Great product. Innovative design. Plug and play ready. Some suggestions: #1 it would be great if the turntable speed could be adjusted in a fine tune manner. If you're jamming DAWless with a drum machine the bpm can drift/or be a discreet bpm 129.6 vs 129. This makes syncing challenging. #2 including a compatible trs to midi dongle (apparently there are 2 versions type A and type B) type A is what you want. #3 Creating a phone app that could be accessed on iPhone/Android to allow for flat and sharp note adjustments that could be switched on the fly. Transmission via bluetooth would be an elegant solution.

It´s a tiny beautiful beast, the orbita. There is lots of potential in it to get creative with.

Three suggestions: I need more magnets to play more complex melodies with. Three per note is not nearly enough. Any chance to order them? Also, what about the chromatical notes like c sharp and so on? Would be great to have as well. Last but not least: A rewind button or at least the possibility to play the music backwards would be awesome.

Thanks for building the orbita, I´m planning on using it as a teaching tool very soon. Curious how it works out.

Ce séquenceur physique et circulaire rappelle un peu les séquenceurs euclidiens.

Il permet de lancer jusque 4 séquences en parallèle. Les aimants colorés (chaque couleur correspond à une note) permet de créer de la musique de façon intuitive et très visuelle. La précision des placements ne peut que difficilement être parfaitement précise ce qui rend la séquence moins parfaite et plus humaine.

Je vais m'en servir de deux façons : pour des installations sonores avec mon orchestrion midi en cours de création (le public va pouvoir créer ses propres musiques dessus) et pour des actions de médiations autour des automates sonores.

After seeing Oribita at Superbooth I was very excited to have "my" Orbita in my hands. It's a fun, tactile sequencer with more options to play music and ambient setups, than visible at first hand. Thanks for this invention!
